Style request: [Molecular and Biochemical Parasitology]
Hello
I would like to use the citation style that is used by the journal Molecular and Biochemical Parasitology, it is similar to the style called "ACM SIGCHI conference proceedings", except that the journal name is not italicized, the year is not in parentheses, and the year proceeds the volume number.
This style is described on the journal's webpage instruction to authors, under "references"
http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/journaldescription.cws_home/506086/authorinstructions

Abbreviations of journal titles should conform to those adopted by the List of Serial Title Word abbreviations, ISDS International Centre, 20, rue Bachaumont, 75002 Paris, France (ISBN 2-904938-02-8).
Is there already such a style by another name or can this style be created for me?
Thanks
Amy

use the "Raw" link on the top right to download the style.
Install by dragging to Firefox.
I haven't tested this extensively and your description of the differences was missing a lot, so this may still not be quite correct - please test and report any remaining issues.
Sorry about that, I included the web link because I figured they would have more details than I did.
Thanks for doing this, it is close, here are the differences I found:
- number in bibliography list should be in brackets "[1]", not "1."
- no comma after last name (comma after first (or first middle) initial only)
- no periods in abbreviations of journal titles
- book titles not italicized
-edition number for book should be included, as "2nd ed." etc.
- For a book: "City: Publisher" - no state or country name
Thanks again
Also, any way to get Zotero to preserve italics that are in journal titles? (i.e scientific names in biological journals)? I can do it manually but would be nice to have it automatic.
Amy
It is not currently possible to do away with the periods in Journal Abbreviations - Zotero takes what it gets from the respective field (Journal Abbr.)
This is currently being discussed (search on the forum if you're interested), but will be considerable time before it's implemented.
Same for the last point - Zotero just takes whatever is in the Place field and has no way to distinguish.
And no also to your last question - this has long been debated, but I don't know the current state of that debate - the people behind .csl want to make this as general as possible - i.e. rather than marking up something as "italics" you'd mark it as "scientific name" and the style could then decide if it gets put in italics, small caps, underlined etc.
Might take me a day or two to get to the changes.
<i> - italics
<b> - bold
 - subscript
 - superscript
 - small-caps
Until then, you can use macros for your word processor, although that's a bit more work and slightly less convenient (but certainly doable, I had no problems with this writing my most recent manuscript). Details for MS Word:

with

as the install link.
I've also changed the version on github above if you're impatient ;-)
No worries on the incomplete list of differences - but with just the instructions I am stuck with identifying all the differences myself, which means I take a lot more time to write a style which means I can help fewer people.
Thanks
