Upgrade StorageWas using Zotero without registered account and syncing

I downloaded Zotero on my computer about a year ago and have accumulated a large library. I now have a new computer and would like to sync my original library into the Zotero app on my new computer. I just registered my email address and created a Zotero account. I have not yet logged in with this account onto the new computer (with no library). I am wondering if I login on my Zotero app on my old computer (with full library), will I lose the library I currently have? Will logging in with an account essentially overwrite my current library that I had without a registered account?
I've read and reread the discussions on syncing and backup but it still isn't totally clear to me.
