Better way to search for keywords with special characters in a library?

Hi Everyone,

I've been a Zotero user for quite a few years now. I love it. If there is one major defect I would point out, is the "Search" engine to search for a keyword inside your library. It works just fine for standard strings, such as when using it to filter for author's name or every paper mentioning a gene, e.g. "MRG15" or "EZL1". Unfortunately, the functionality doesn't work for any keyword containing special character. I am a biologist working on C. elegans, whose gene nomenclature always inlcude a "-" character. If I search for the gene "LIN-13", I feel like it just throws any file containing "LIN" OR "-" or the number "13". Does anyone know if there is a better way to perform such a search or if there is hope it will be implemented? Searching for "LIN-13" as one would on on Google or PubMed does not work. This is one major inconvenience I have with using Zotero, which is an otherwise cool software, but as my library grows bigger I will probably have to find an alternative.

Thank you very much,
Best
