Updated Mac to Catalina and Microsoft Office online - Zotero not opening

Hi, I have assignments piling up. Please help. After the Catalina update, I had to purchase Microsoft Office online to be able to use Word. Now Zotero is not citing in Word. I can't even find the icon. I have tried reinstalling.
  • Zotero doesn't work with Office Online, and never has. See System Requirements.

    But my understanding is that Office Online is free, so if you purchased something (Office 365?), I would assume you have access to download the desktop versions of the Office programs. You can use Zotero with the desktop version of Word.

    Here's the possible reasons why you have issue with Zotero 

    Are you using OSX Catalina for your MAC? As OSX Catalina is the latest version for MAC and it only work with 64 bit applicationsZotero might be running in 32 bit - Your OSX Catalina is not recognizing your Zotero App because of incompatibility

    Recommendation:

    Please contact Zotero developer for the updated version or if they have a 64 bit version then reinstall it.

    No, it's not correct at all. Don't bother discussing this with them — they have no idea what they're talking about.

    Again, the issue is that you're trying to use Office Online, which is a website. Zotero doesn't work with that.

    If you want to use Zotero with Word, you need to run the version of Word that you download and install on your computer, and then you'll have a Zotero toolbar in the Word ribbon. If you don't see that — again, after making sure you're actually using the Word program on your computer, not the website — then see Zotero Toolbar Doesn't Appear for instructions for reinstalling the plugin into Word.
