Make file read / write when storing an attachment

Hi Dan, I've noticed that a lot of sites when I grab a pdf from them (e.g. JSTOR) the pdf arrives as read-only. When I then attach it and try to rename the file from the parent metadata it hits a problem - it does rename the file, but looses the location and doesn't display the correct filename. It's not a problem so long as I remember to change the attributes before attaching the pdf but it's annoying. Would it be possible to automatically change the attribute to read-write when attaching a file?
