Zotero connector does nothing in google docs

I am following the online instructions, but can't add citations and bibliography in google docs. I ask to add a citation, it takes me to my Zotero app, i select the citation, and then nothing happens. Sometimes I get a big red bar with a blue pulsing line through it, sometimes nothing. I am runninf Mac OS X Mojave, and latest versions of Google Docs and Zotero Connector.

Clicking Add/Edit Citation doesn't take you to the Zotero app — it opens the citation dialog, which is the red bar. If you're not seeing that, it's likely behind the main Zotero window.

Thanks it *was* behind the main window, explaining why I did not see it. All good now
