Editing Zotero citations in Word do not work after downloading document from Google Docs
I created text with Zotero citations on Google Docs. After exporting a linked Word version of the document I want to edit the citations in Word. The link leads me to the Zotero page instead to the Zotero citation dialogue and shows: "Google Docs. The citations in the Google Doc you were accessing were created by Zotero. You probably got here by mistake. To edit the citations, install the Zotero connector for your browser. If you don't need to edit the citations in the document, there is no need to install anything."
The Zotero connector is installed. Zotero is open on my local desktop. I'm logged in online. Internet connection is stable. Any idea, what I could do to make it work?
Thank you.

(If you've interacted with a citation since you opened the Google Doc, Zotero warns you of this when you go to export the file as a .docx.)
