Manual numbering of the references

Dear All,

I wonder if anyone could help with the following, Zotero has cited the same reference twice but with different numbers (21, 46). I have searched for duplicates, but I did not find any.
i tried to delete the duplicate ref. (46), but after its removal, the next no. becomes 47, not 46. how to correct this?
Any idea how to solve this trouble?

    One of the references is probably not connected to your Zotero library (e.g., it was to a duplicate item that you deleted instead of merged). Open the edit citation window on each citation, then click the blue bubble for the item. Does one of them not have the “Show in My Library” button? If so, delete that reference and replace it with the other.

    That is the "bubble" mentioned and you can see it says "My library" there.

    (Also, you can edit your posts by hovering over your post until a little gear appears on the right)
