Style request: Optics Letters

The citation style for Optics Letters is notably different than that for other Optical Society journals in that it's abbreviated.

OSA uses the same style for all their journals. We have this style on the repository that should be correct: https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=id:optics-express

And I am adding dependent styles for all their journals, so you can find them via their individual names in the future.
  • No, they do not use the same style for Optics Letters and the other journals. Quoting the template:
"Optics Letters uses an abbreviated reference style."

Followed by an example of a bibliography:

    "1. M. R. E. Lamont, Y. Okawachi, and A. L. Gaeta, Opt. Lett. 38, 3478 (2013).
    2. A. Cordero-Davila, J. R. Kantun-Montiel, and J. Gonzalez-Garcia, in Imaging and Applied Optics Technical Digest 2012 (Optical Society of America, 2012), p. 13.
    "

Compared with the example from the general template:

"1. P. J. Harshman, T. K. Gustafson, and P. Kelley, “Title of paper,” J. Chem. Phys. 3, (to be published).
    2. K. Gallo and G. Assanto, “All-optical diode based on second-harmonic generation in an asymmetric waveguide,” J. Opt. Soc. Am. B 16(2), 267–269 (1999).

  • Thank you! This looks correct except for two things:
1: Only the volume should be listed, but not the issue.
2: Only the first page should be listed, not the full page range. I don't know if that's possible within the language, I looked in the documentation and there doesn't seem to be a page range format for that.
  • Perfect, thank you so much!
