Changing the Word inline citation formatting so that it can be used as Latex citation key?

edited March 25, 2020
Hi,

Do you know how to remove the whitespace between author and year in the inline citation of Word? for example, "Smith 2020" to "Smith2020" or "Smith-2020" (without whitespace)?

I personally prefer Latex, but my cooperators prefer Word when they review my manuscript, so I need to transfer my manuscript from Word to Latex before submitting. I set my Latex key as "autherYear-pages", for example "Smith2020-12". It would save me a lot of time with the same inline citation of Word. But I can only get "Smith 2020-12" not "Smith2020-12". I cannot remove the whitespace. do you have any good ideas?

Thanks, Yu
