Exporting new fields in Zotero

Hello,
Does somebody know how to add and export certain fields that are not defined in the format? (For example, a field called relevance)
Thank you
  • Export in what format?
  • Not really a problem, could be CSV or BibTeX. What I need are personalized fields that export along the title, author etc. Thanks
  • Maybe creating a new style? Or is there an easier way to archive this?
  • It depends on what you want to achieve. non-standard fields are usually done by adding them to the extra field. To export them to CSV you'd have to customize the CSV exporter. I wouldn't do it with a style -- translators are the way to do this.

If bibtex works for you, you can install the BBT plugin, and add tex.whatever: field contents lines to the extra field, and those will show up as whatever = {field contents} in the output.
  • Thank you very much for your help and quick response, makes total sense.
I will try it ASAP and let you know.
  • Is it possible to add several fields? fe, tex.one: this is a test, tex.two: this is another thing?

It does work, just managed to place different fields like you said, to the extra field.
Thank you very much for your kind help.
Congrats on the plugin, works fantastic ;)

It seems this is not working anymore... I added the following text in the extra field:
text.venue: Neuburg an der Donau, Germany

But I ended up in the BibTex export with:
    annotation = {text.venue: Neuburg an der Donau, Germany}

Am I doing something wrong? It also seems that whatever I enter in the extra field ended up in the field note... except the "Citation Key" that works just fine.
  • it's tex.venue, not text.venue
