"extra field is null" error when adding a new report item to library

A strange behavior exists in recent versions of zotero mac standalone, which occurs every time I try to add a new "Report" item to my library: shortly after typing the first few words of the item's title, the field clears out and the cursor returns to the beginning, and an error signal appears near the sync button, saying "extra field is null." It occurs with the "Report" item type, but it may occur with others too. The Debug ID is D546869972.
