Zotero not opening after 5.0.83 update

Dell Inspiron 15

Since updating to 5.0.83, Zotero will open briefly but the window will then disappear. There's no process running in the background for it so I know it's completely closed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times with laptop restarts and windows updates in between tests but its had no effect. I've had to revert back to 5.0.6 for it to work.

Is this a known problem or is it individual to me?

    Do you really mean that you're reverting back to 5.0.6? Or do you mean 5.0.60? How did you choose that version? Are you saying you just updated to 5.0.83 from a much older version?

    Can you try starting Zotero while holding down Shift?
