Group item page: rel="nofollow" for URL?

I think that rel="nofollow" for URLs is pretty bad! Hand out some link love to the sites which are stored by group members.
  • While it would be nice to improve the search rankings of popular citations, we've already been seeing problems with spammers. We'd prefer to make zotero as bad a target for them as possible or it will be less useful to real users.
  • You will always have to live with Spammers.
rel="nofollow" is the dumbest worst case scenario.

Users and people who like Zotero give link love to Zotero.
This discussion was already 'fought' with Wikipedia and using nofollow was considered bad behavior by the community.

rel="bookmark" would be the correct microformat.
URLs can be checked realtime against multiple blacklists on the Internet.
rel="bookmark nofollow" could be set for anonymous or known URL spam.

Use a technical solution and not a bad microformat (if used 100%).
My CMS Textpattern eg uses sbl.spamhaus.org against comment spam by checking IP addresses of commenters.
