Suddenly, after clicking on an item, all text from the collection pane disappears, asking to restart

I have used Zotero without problems a few hours ago.
Now, after adding a new item to my collection, when I click on any item in the collection pane, all text from the collection pane disappears, and the following error message is shown:

An error has occurred. Please restart Zotero.

Restart does not help, so currently I cannot use Zotero any more.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

  • Ahmm. The Problem is solved.
    I thought that the zotfile extension is updated automatically, but it isn't.
    Installing the most recent version of the plugin fixed the problem.
