MDPI Style and Punctuation

I am having difficulty with punctuation in authors names in MDPI style. Some authors names come out correctly with: Smith, J.; Jackson, P., etc. While other authors names come out incorrectly without the full stops such as: Smith, J; Jackson, P etc. Why would that be? Each reference looks exactly the same when inserted in Zotero?
