uninstalling Zotero and deleting library from one computer

One of the computers on which my Zotero library is currently synced is used only by an assistant. In the future I would like to run Zotero on this computer without the assistant having access to my Zotero library, but having access to particular collections that I share.

In order to do this, should I uninstall Zotero on this computer, delete the library on this computer, then reinstall zotero?

No need to uninstall. Just create a separate Zotero account for your assistant and change the linked account in the Sync pane of Zotero preferences on this computer. To share with the assistant account, create a group library that both accounts are members of and create the collections in the group library.

When you change the linked accounts in the Sync pane, the existing library will be removed from this computer.

Edit: Fixed reference to Sync pane.
  • thanks - did you mean the Sync pane? So I should click Unlink Account, check the book for "remove my Zotero data from this computer," then link with the new account?
