Upgrade StorageZotero roadmap

I was wondering if it was possible to have any information on how long the ipad standalone version may take? I believe hiring was completed last year?
My work flow is really dependant on the full indexing search found in the stand alone format and I am itching to purchase a tablet for convenience. I've held off on buying a surface product for a long time due to the sheer cost compared to iPads being much cheaper and the chance the ipad app is released quite soon. My primary use will be for reading and file management through zotero, but if it will be another 9 months etc I may as well make the jump with the surface.
