Stored synced data lost

Hi,
I was deleting some unwanted entries from zotero when all the contents were suddenly lost.
The individual folders remain now also, but it has no contents. "Trash" seems to have some files, but that too has some issue.
I have logged in here into the database to access my synced files, but that too is showing what is seen in zotero.
The 'Users' file in C-drive has a zotero folder which has sqlite and bak files along with folders named as "locate","storage","styles","translators". The"storage folder seems to have several folders, but all of them is showing the 'date last modified' as yesterday, when this whole mishap happened.
Can someone pls help me out
  • You should first make a backup of all the zotero.sqlite* files in your Zotero data directory.

It's not clear where you're looking but you currently have 1,260 items in your online library. Have you already restored from a backup since posting?

It looks like you deleted some collections about 10 hours ago, but otherwise there are no recent deleted items in your online library.
  • Thank you very much for your prompt response.

The 1260 items were restored from the 'Trash' since posting. Some more relevant data is still missing.

    I have 3 zotero.sqlite.bak files with 'date modified' as 09 Dec 2019 (18820kb), 01 Jan 2020 (112,880 kb) and 06 Jan 2020 (113688kb).
I will be happy if I could restore the smaller file from 09 Dec 2019 as I am ok with that.

Could you guide me how to go ahead with your first comment "You should first make a backup of all the zotero.sqlite* files in your Zotero data directory"

Thank you again for your help
  • I understood what you meant. I was able to restore most of it.
Thank you very much for the prompt and crisp response. :-)
