Citations Not Being Added to Word Document

When in a research paper in Word for Office 365, and I select Add/Edit Citation from the Zotero tab, I enter the last name, select the article, and it looks like it is loading but the citation never appears in the document anywhere. If I repeat my actions, after clicking the Add/Edit Citation, the author's information appears in the bar with the cursor after the citation, and the citation information will not go away. How can I fix it?
  • Which citation style are you using? Could you just be overlooking the citations, e.g. it just appears as a number?
  • There are no extra numbers. APA 6th Edition.
  • I took no additional actions, but Zotero is now working properly for citations. The new problem is that the bibliography is not correctly formatting when an article has more than seven authors, Zotero is listing ALL authors.

    Example:
    Warring, C. D., Pinkney, J. R., Delvo-Favre, E. D., Rener, M. R., Lyon, J. A., Jax, B., Alexaitis, I., Cassel, K., Ealy, K., Hagen, M. G., Wright, E. M., Chang, M., Radhakrishnan, N. S., & Leverence, R. R. (2018). Implementation of a routine health literacy assessment at an academic medical center. Journal for Healthcare Quality, 40(5), 247–255. https://doi.org/10.1097/JHQ.0000000000000116

How can I fix it? This did not happen two weeks ago, the last time I wrote a paper.
  • The Zotero APA style was just updated to 7th edition, which includes up to 20 authors. If you want APA 6th edition, install that from the Cite pane of the Zotero preferences and change the style in your document.
  • Wow! What do I do as the 6th edition is not an option on the preferences for default format?
  • Click "Get additional styles…".
  • Thank you, problem resolved.
