Upgrade StorageNeed Help Syncing Zotero with Dropbox
I recently installed Zotero, ZotFile, Foxit Reader, and Dropbox to be able to mark up .pdfs and be able to transfer them from my iPad Pro to my MacBook and back. However, it is not working as I had intended it to and I need some help.
I'll go through step-by-step the process that I am doing and where I think it is going wrong. I am not having any problem directly syncing just on my MacBook, but when I try to transfer .pdfs from my iPad to my MacBook I have problems.
1) First I find a .pdf on my iPad and send it to my Dropbox account.
2) I go on Foxit Mobile and mark it up a bit and highlight some information, afterwards saving it.
2) I go on my MacBook and drag that marked up .pdf file to where I want it in Zotero.
3) Zotero translates that bare file into a bunch of information and ZotFile provides me a button to click which then transfers a new file back to my Dropbox.
4) This is where I am confused. On one hand, in Zotero I am able to see the file I transferred with all of its markings. On the other hand, the new file in my Dropbox account has no markings on it; all the notes I have made are wiped off. Even when I make changes from Zotero on my MacBook they do not show up in either the original Dropbox file or the new one from ZotFile.
What I am looking for is to be able to take notes from Zotero on my computer and have those notes directly transfer to a .pdf in Dropbox. Can I please get some help?
