Pls help: I want to create a keyboard shortcut on macOS to open a PDF in a chosen reader

I'd either like to have two separate shortcuts for two different readers or alternatively one that opens the PDF in both readers – whichever is easiest to implement. I would like to do it myself but don't know where to start. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

    (Could you possibly create an Automator app that could be selected as the single 'reader', but which would then open the requested file in two different programs? You'd have to figure out the details, but that could work, at least in principle, and would be easier that modifying Zotero.)
