Database Error on Startup
Hello,
i was using Zotero for my thesis paper. When i started the software up this morning, i encountered this error message:
Error: Error(s) encountered during statement execution: database disk image is malformed [QUERY: SELECT COALESCE(MAX(creatorID) + 1, 1) FROM creators] [PARAMS: ] [ERROR: database disk image is malformed]
Zotero.DBConnection.prototype.valueQueryAsync<@chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/db.js:709:13
From previous event:
ZoteroService@file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Zotero/components/zotero-service.js:352:7
@chrome://zotero/content/include.js:4:14
It should be noted that my Zotero folder is being synced by google drive (so i always have a copy if something goes awry). Also i use the zotero online sync service. Does anyone have an idea as to why i get this message?
I tried reinstalling zotero, also i removed the chrome extension. I used the DB restore tool. The new db is somewhat smaller (9 Mbyte instead of 11) and now zotero says: loading entries whenever i start it.
greetings
Tilman

emilianoeheynsedited November 17, 2019You have probably corrupted your database: https://www.zotero.org/support/sync (section "Alternative Syncing Solutions"). There's a repair tool that you could try after you disable google drive sync: https://www.zotero.org/utils/dbfix/

dstillmanedited November 16, 2019@tilmaen: If you've already tried the DB Repair Tool, you'll need to restore from a backup. (Storing your database in a cloud storage folder corrupted your database, but it hopefully also gives you version history on the file to allow you to revert to an earlier version.)
