Zotero connector button in Chrome stopped working with Amazon.com and Google Books

This is very unfortunate. Finding sources on those sites is very convenient. Using university libraries is much less convenient because their search functions are so poor by comparison.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

Between loss of functionality and the new corporate owners of Zotero trying to charge for storage, I'm getting ready to dump the product for one of its more reliable and fully-functional pay-to-to-use competitors.

Amazon should be working; do you have an example (URL) where it doesn't?
Google books we're working on a fix. Note that with both of those, you're getting significantly poorer quality metadata and there's nothing Zotero can do about that, so it may still be worthwhile to go to a library catalog.

not sure where you're getting this, but Zotero is still owned by GMU, a public university*, is still fully open source, and the "Corporation for Digital Scholarship", to which you may be referring, is a non-for-profit that has been selling storage services for Zotero to ensure longterm financial sustainability of the project, for almost 10 years now.

*edit: sorry, that part was incorrect. CDS has assumed the trademark which GMU let lapse in the meantime.
