Importing my online library to a new computer

I have just started work at a different university and am trying to import my zotero library to the desktop. I have downloaded and installed Zotero but going through the desktop it does not sync, even though my account has been added. In the online set up I cannot see anywhere that would allow me to export and there is no sync tab. Can anyone help guide me through this?
