Question about PDF, indexing, and annotation extraction

Hi,

1) When a PDF is indexed, is it possible to see the TEXT (raw text, not pdf text) index in zotero? it would be useful when searching the full text that is indexed, to view the highlighted search term in zotero and save time.

2) I was watching some videos about PDF annotation extracting to notes. I am running zotero in linux and I can't find that functionality anymore? Was it removed?

1) Planned, not possible
2) That's a Zotfile feature (www.zotfile.com)

@adamsmith the pdftotext linux tool is amazing in cleanly extracting text from pdfs almost instantaneously.

Zotero uses pdftotext. That's how it indexes PDFs.

Ah okay cool! Hopefully in the future it won't be too difficult to have that extracted text added as an item/note or in that text field when selecting the pdf. Thank you once more
