merging installs

I had to move machines recently and in the midst of this, had to install Zotero on the new machine, where I also started and saved a project. Now I want to merge both projects to the new machine....any ideas, please.

Unless you synced with a new account on the new computer, you can just set up syncing with the original account and sync.

and the merge will keep data from both installs on the new machine? I've never set up syncing, perhaps help on that as well, please.

Yes (though you should obviously first make sure you have a backup of the Zotero data directory on both machines, as you would with any important data).
