Freezing obviously isn't normal behavior.

When exactly is it freezing? What exact version of Word?

Microsoft Word for Mac Version 16.16.14

It freezes by clicking on any command within the Zotero-Plugin. Every time.

Restart Zotero and see if it happens again. If it does, submit a Report ID?
