Problem with LibreOffice Vanilla integration (Mac)

I can't get Zotero integrated properly.

First of all the integration wizard can't find the unopkg-file, neither automatically nor by adding a directory.
Secondly a manual installation results in this error: "Connector: Couldn't connect to pipe a5d9cef94dbe7e7f28ac552ff9bcc67a26951b83a9c63ea83c2bb2f36d8c3(10)"

I've installed java, also the Java SE Development Kit 11.0.4.

I run Mojave 10.14.6, LibreOffice Vanilla Version: 6.2.6.2 and Zotero 5.0.74.

Any ideas what might help?
  • If a manual installation fails, you'd have to get LibreOffice support. The .oxt is just a standard LO extension. Generally the first thing to try is closing LO and moving the entire LO profile folder out of the way.
  • Thanks for your response. I'll reach out to LibreOffice support right away.

Could you elaborate a bit on the last part? What do you mean by moving the profile folder out of the way?

    The LibreOffice Profile folder.
  • That folder doesn't exist.
  • Are you sure? You need to open Finder and press Command-Shift-G, then enter ~/Library/Application Support/LibreOffice/4 into the prompt box.
  • Quite sure - I used the version of LibreOffice by Collabora through the App Store. So I think that command wouldn't find the folder anyway, however the article on wiki took that into account. Still, no such folder.

I found a workaround. There were no issues with integrating Zotero if you download LibreOffice from their website and not through the App Store.

    Have a great day!
  • Yes, a version from the App Store would be sandboxed, so that folder wouldn't be there. We've only tested Zotero with the version from libreoffice.org.
