Newcastle University Library catalogue (UK) Aleph failure

Hello,

There's something not working properly with the Aleph translator for the Newcastle University Library catalogue (http://www.ncl.ac.uk/library/catalogue).

I cannot link directly to a result without the session ID in the URL, but if you click on "Keyword Search", and display the result of any search, the problem is reproducable.

Zotero correctly displays the "Save to Zotero (Library Catalogue (Aleph))" book icon in the address bar. However, when one clicks on it, you get a "Could not save item" error. I've taken a look at the Troubleshooting Translator Errors at http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues, and followed the advice there, but to no avail. The problem is reproducable on multiple machines.

If anyone could shed some light on this (and if possible, suggest a solution) that would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Sunil
  • Hi all,

I would not normally be so rude as to bump up a thread, but I was wondering whether anyone had been able to take a look at this issue?

    Thanks,

    Sunil
  • Unfortunately I haven't the coding skills to tackle the problem, but I can reproduce it, and hopefully this error report should help a developer or a user who does have the necessary skills to solve it:

    report ID: 2082477197
    Zotero 20b7.1
    Firefox 3.5.2.

The content of the error is below.
[JavaScript Error: "TypeError: newItem.title is undefined" {file: "file:///C:/Users/Any%20Authorised%20User/Documents/Zotero%20library/translators/Library%20Catalog%20(Aleph).js" line: 0}]
