Changing report type from automatic "Technical Report" to blank

My bibliography compiled from .bib files from Zotero automatically add "Technical Report" whenever referencing an @report. Usually I leave the "report type" field blank, unless it is marked as a working paper.

I tried adding \notype to the "report type" field, but it simply prints the text, rarther than the command. Thus, the .bib file shows as "\textbackslash{notype}", and the bibliography simply prints "\notype" and skips over the command. Is there a way to make sure that the report type field remains blank?
  • If the Report Type field is blank in Zotero, then it wouldn’t export anything to the report type field when you export to BibTeX. This seems like an issue with the BibTeX style you are using. You would have to check that.
