Bibliography

Hi,

Apologies if this has already been covered, I'm new to Zotero!

I'm having trouble generating a bibliography. When I create a bibliography, only 6 of the 50 footnoted sources appear. The 6 that appear are the most recent ones.

I reckon I've accidentally disconnected my footnotes from Zotero, so when I generate a bibliography most of them don't appear.

Is there any way to rectify this?

Thank you!!
  • Unfortunately probably not. This generally happens if you save the document in some other file format (e.g., something other than .docx, if you're working in Word) or run it through another program (e.g., Google Docs) without going through the necessary conversion steps.

In Word, you can test this by clicking on one of the citations that's not showing up in the bibliography. Does it show up in gray? If you right-click, can you choose Toggle Field Codes and see some code?
  • @GarySummers: Though if you have an earlier copy of the document where the citations are still active, you can copy them back to the newer one.
  • Hi,

Yes you're right. The earlier copies had the citations linked to Zotero.
I ended up re-inputting all the citations, which was good as I could correct a few errors!
Good to know for next time.

    Thanks for your help :)
