How can I set the Chigago Manual of Style 17th edition (author-date) as a footnote?

Not without editing the style -- if a general Chicago-ish style with author date in footnotes is enough, look at the World Politics style. Otherwise we can walk you through editing the style.

Hi there, I've come across a CSL code for this on a 2017 forum: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/69408/chicago-author-date-in-footnotes
.... but this code doesn't produce a 'full stop' after the reference, and does have some other oddities like 'pp. 16' (with a space). I'm not savvy enough to edit it myself...
