Wrong: Firefox 67.0.4 lists zotero as legacy, 'deactivated'

The post below (which I just posted) is wrong.

After getting upgraded to Firefox 67.0.4 (released June 20, 2019), the zotero extension was deactivated. Mozilla listed it as a 'legacy' that does "... not meet current Firefox standards." Mozilla's website did not show a replacement. However, from https://www.zotero.org/download/connectors I was able to reinstall the zotero extension and it works correctly. There appears to be a problem with firefox and extensions, but zotero does still work. I am relieved.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Firefox 67.0.4 (released June 20, 2019) no longer supports the zotero extension. It lists zotero as a "Legacy Extension" and states "These extensions do not meet current Firefox standards so they have been deactivated."

Does anyone know of a way around this? I don't know if I can roll back to an older version of Firefox. Firefox has gotten aggressive about pushing updates.

Is there any hope of a new zotero extension that meets firefox's new standard? And/or is there another browser that supports zotero and runs on linux.

thanks
  • How exactly are you trying to install the Zotero Connector for Firefox? It definitely is built around the current Firefox WebExtensions standard (for over a year).
  • I successfully reinstalled it by clicking on the 'Install' link https://www.zotero.org/download/connectors. As far as I can tell, there's no problem with the zotero firefox extension. The only problem was firefox recognizing it after a firefox update.
