Indexing PDFs : the title containing special characters
I've been experiencing problems with pdf indexing:
https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/77359/alternative-pdf-indexing-method#latest
What I found recently is that file name(=paper title) of the unindexed items all contained special characters like dashes, bullets, etc(which is a common practice for chemistry papers).
So I've tested if changing dash(es) into hyphen(minus sign, the key in between 0 and = on the keyboard) would fix the problem, and it indeed worked!
For example if I change the pdf name from
Catalytic C–H Amination Mediated by Dipyrrin Cobalt Imidos (2019).pdf
to
Catalytic C-H Amination Mediated by Dipyrrin Cobalt Imidos (2019).pdf
(The change is not 'obvious' with the fonts here though..)
and re-try indexing, it works well.
Maybe I can take some time and edit file names, leaving no unindexed items, and finally get satisfied!
Hope this fact can help someone who is suffering same problem with me.
It would be better if some day in the future the problem is fixed and don't have to edit file names anymore :-D
