Better BibTex Export is Broken

Exporting the library with Better BibTex results in an error message, stating that an error occurred while trying to export the file, and producing a empty file. The "Report Errors" window accessible under the help menu gives the following:

[JavaScript Error: "this.skipWords is undefined" {file: "Better BibTeX" line: 1305}]
  • Have you made sure to update BBT to the most recent version?
  • Looking at the add-ins, it did not appear that BBT had been installed at all. Is is possible that the menu items had somehow followed an imported library from a previous install, rather than following the capabilities/plugins installed in the app?

After an installation of (re?)-installation of BBT, the export works again. Thanks for the help. =) I don't know if it's possible to generate a more informative error message under the conditions, but if so it might help if others run into the same issue.

Some old versions of BBT left behind their custom translators when uninstalled, which broke BibTeX import/export.
  • This was specifically around the Z4 -> Z5 migration -- after Zotero upgraded to Z5, BBT couldn't run to clean up the old translators. Uninstalling BBT after the upgrade would thus leave the broken translators in place.
  • If you install the new BBT, it'll replace the broken translators.
