Error message every time I try to introduce a new citation after opening Word document in Mac
I normally use the Zotero plug in in Word 2019 on my PC and it works fine, but I opened a document in Word for Mac 2011 and it didn't allow me to add new citations even though I could use the interface.
More worryingly, when I opened the file again on my PC, it didn't allow me to add any new citations either. I keep getting an error message that says "The Zotero field corresponding to this citation (...) has been corrupted. Would you like to reselect the item?", no matter where I try to insert any citation. If I click "No" or "Yes", the error message appears again and nothing happens. The only option I have is to click "Cancel", which brings me back to the Add Citation window, but when I try to select the citation to add, I get another message that says "Zotero experienced an error updating your document".
Please, could you help me with this? I don't know what's going on.
Thanks,
Sara

Did you save the document as .docx the whole time? One way to corrupt the document would be saving in another format.
