New tags when copying Zotero to a new computer

Hello,

I have copied the Zotero folder from my previous computer to my new one. However, in my original copy of Zotero I only had three tags. In the new copy I find about 20 tags that I did not put manually in the original folder. What can be the cause? Thanks.

    What do you mean by "tags" and "folder", exactly?

    How did you copy your database? Did you follow these steps?

    I copied the Zotero data folder from my Firefox profile on the first machine to the Firefox profile on the new machine. When checking the tags, I noticed that I had about 120 new tags (as opposed to 3 that I had on the first machine). Some of the new tags were "Alexander, Animal Communication, Braveheart, Caribbean, ducks, Patton or Rocky", that had not relationship with the items in my bibliography.

    What may the cause for this and how could I avoid it? Thanks.

    I suspect on your old computer Show Automatic in the tag selector's drop-down menu wasn't enabled, and on your new computer it is, so you're seeing automatic tags.
