RSS feed error - works in other programs

...is a genuine feed (works in MS Outlook) but doesn't work in Zotero. The "title" box doesn't populate and I am unable to save the feed.

It looks like there's something about Wiley Online feeds that Zotero doesn't like, I've also tried adding a feed (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/feed/15213773/most-recent) and no title appears, so it cannot be saved...

If I try exporting the feed from Feedly for example, and import the OPML file into Zotero, it appears with a different address (http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/rss/journal/10.1002/(ISSN)1521-3773) in Zotero, but the feed still doesn't load, and the icon has an exclamation mark.

Wiley's explanation to add /rss/ to the journal url on this page (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/researchers/tools-resources/reference) also doesn't seem to work generating a useable RSS feed url...

They're failing for different, unrelated reasons, and the errors in the NRC feed aren't fatal.

The Wiley feed just isn't a valid feed. They're using a root "RDF" element but saying it's in the RSS 1.0 namespace rather than the RDF namespace. That's wrong, and a feed reader would only parse that by incorrectly ignoring XML namespaces. (This also wouldn't have shown as a feed in Firefox 52, on which Zotero's feed reading support is based.)

I got in contact with Wiley Online Journals customer support about this, and after a couple of emails, they've said that the issue with the RSS feeds has been investigated, and should hopefully be fixed by early May. So fingers crossed Wiley RSS feeds should all work in Zotero soon.

Any update on this from folks who have managed to reach Wiley Support? Issue still apparent on my end, as of May 2.

I've heard nothing more from them, but as they told me "by early May" hopefully it'll be in the next couple of weeks perhaps

It's been a few months now that Zotero hasn't been able to dispaly Wiley feeds. Strangely, other RSS readers seem to have no problems with these. Also, I've noticed that other RSS readers seem to detect various elements much better than Zotero which just lumps most details under Abstract.

I feel like the Zotero RSS reader needs some serious improvement. It's probably the best possible way to follow journals and build a personal library so it's unfortunate that it doesn't work.

If you're still having trouble with Wiley, you should contact them and ask for an update. As we say above, and as they've apparently acknowledged, their feed is just invalid, and it can't be parsed in a feed reader that conforms to standards. This is absolutely not a problem in Zotero.

If you have a problem with a non-Wiley feed, start a new thread and we can take a look.

It appears that Wiley have finally updated their feeds, I can now add them successfully to Zotero, and the Feed Validator also confirms the validity e.g. https://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/feed/15213773/most-recent
