[Feature request] “Cancel” button in Zotero Connector

It would be great to have a button that cancels the Zotero connector action.

Example use case:

I save something with the Zotero connector, only to realize that I need to make a new collection. I have to save it to the library, and then within Zotero move it from the library to the collection. Depending on how the library is sorted, this can be annoying. It would be easier to cancel the connector import, make the collection, and then redo the import.

    I think your other request — to be able to create a new collection — makes more sense here, if we can work it into the UI in an unobtrusive way.

    A “New collection” option at the bottom of the collection drop down might work.

    Because I quite often accidentally click the Zotero Connector icon in firefox, a "Cancel" or "Undo" option would still be much appreciated.

    I was thinking this exactly! Although I don't accidentally press the icon in Safari, what does happen quite often is that I press the button and, instead of picking up the article, sometimes it only recognises the webpage itself (has started happening with the new American Chemical Society journal websites). You can still get the journal information from ACS sites, but you need to open the PDF of the article for it to work. On other sites, though, it can generally gather the information itself.

    The problem is that by the time you realise that it's saved the webpage information (no authors, years, etc., just a webpage snapshot), you have to go into the Zotero library and actively delete it. And, if you saved it to a Collection you then have to go to the overall library and delete it there.

    An undo (or confirm) button would be amazing!
