Zotz/Citeline: can we give the Citeline folks a hand?

See this FAQ entry on the Citeline site. Basically, the Citeline folks don't know what exactly Zotero does to its BibTex export. But they do want to support it. Can someone in the know give them a hand?

In a private email, one of the Citeline devs tells me that supporting Zotero's RDF schema would be even nicer, since Citeline uses RDF internally. But there seems to be no documentation of the Zotero RDF schema. Is that right? If so, can it be fixed?

    Zotero can import BibTeX that is UTF-8 encoded. This should be trivial for Citeline and others to support.

    There is also an extensive mapping of LaTeX commands to/from UTF-8. For example, "é" would be encoded as "\'e". These are standard & are common in other BibTeX programs & the mapping tables are in the Zotero source.


    If they don't want to handle the minimally documented/changing target that is Zotero RDF, they can use MODS XML & will sometime be able to use the bibo RDF ontology.

    There are already quite a lot of posts relating to the Problem of special characters between Zotz and Citeline. For me it is the only gap of Zotz which prevents me from benefiting from it.

    I was just wondering if there is still somebody working on improving Zotz. It would be sad if this tool would be forgotten... That Zotz is not working in Mozilla 3.5 might be an indication of a stop of development. I hope it is not like that.
