Installing Mendeley on a Mac

Hi. I am a librarian and I use Zotero standalone on my PC. I sometimes assist patrons who have Macs. I've vaguely recalled that when I've tried installing Zotero (and the word plug-in) with them on their Macs, they were prompted to install something else. I think it was Java or something? Has anyone else experienced something like this?

    You are thinking of the need to install the Java Development Toolkit when users want to use Zotero with LibreOffice (not Word) on Mac. https://www.zotero.org/support/system_requirements

    Thanks for such a quick response! We weren't using LibreOffice at the time. This was a while back, though - so something else on her computer might not have been meeting those system requirements. I will view them with the patron first as a checklist before proceed to install.

    Yes, if you aren't using LibreOffice, there is no need to install the Java Development Toolkit or Java Runtime Environment.
