uploading PDF's to my library

I am having problems uploading any of my PDF's into the Zotero library, it keeps saying "The selected file is not in a supported format". I'm not sure how to change the format of my PDF.

You're trying to use "import". You want to just drag the PDF to Zotero (or use "Store copy of File" under the green + sign)
