Sync with webdav

Hi
I have been trying to sync zotero with the box.net webdav but i keep getting the message that the URL is not valid. i tried both the webdav secure and unsecure i.e. http and https. but still hasnt helped. What i am doing is I open zotero and click on sync, and then when the window pops up i enter the details of on zotero login and also the url of box.net. During this process i am not logged in box.net. Is it essential? though i tried syncing with my logged in box.net as well. my username in box.net is am email id . do you think that is creating probelm or am i missing out on something.Any advice?
thank you

What window? What are you clicking, exactly? You shouldn't have to enter anything other than in the Zotero preferences, which you have to open manually by selecting Preferences under the gear menu, and you should only have to enter your information once.

What URL are you using? (You can mask your username if you want.) Can you access it if you try to load it in Firefox directly?
  • Thanks Dan. I was able to sort the sync problem. However I have another query. I keep downloading new references to zotero and then I import them as a RIS file in reference manager as a backup in case something goes wrong with zotero. However everytime i import to refman it imports all the references again i.e. the new ones and the old ones. this creates lots of duplicates in the refman database. Can advise about only importing the newly downloaded refs or only those in one folder saved in zotero?

    thank you

  • Add the Date Added column to the items list in Zotero (by clicking the button at the right edge of the column headings row), select items manually, and keep track of the last exported date.
