Generate a bibliography/list with authors' names only?

I'm trying to build an "index of modern authors" for my dissertation, and it would be helpful if I could generate a list of names. Kind of like the "generate bibliography" option, but just the names. Wondering if there's a faster way of doing this than going through the standard bibliography copy-and-pasting names one at a time.
