moving datafolder

I think I need to move my data folder. My HDD is partitioned. The Zotero data folder is in C Drive [default] but it is becoming too big for C Drive. I need some more room in C Drive. Can I assign the data folder to D Drive and move the data folder to D Drive easily?
  • Yes. You can set the location of your data directory in the Advanced pane of Zotero preferences. Then close Zotero and cut and paste the data folder from the default location to the new location.
  • That order won't exactly work, because you have to set the data directory to an existing directory, which won't exist yet in that case.

Instead, create an empty "Zotero" folder in the new desired location, point Zotero there from the prefs, and then, with Zotero closed, move the contents of the old Zotero folder (zotero.sqlite, 'storage', etc.) to the new directory.
