Help syncing to Box via Box Drive

Can you help me figure out step-by-step instructions to sync Zotero to Box via Box Drive and Box WebApp?

Box no longer supports WebDAV syncing, so you can't directly use Zotero's file syncing ability with it any longer. See here for how you can use Box with linked files in combination with the Zotfile plugin: https://zotero.org/support/sync#alternative_syncing_solutions

Personally, I recommend using either Zotero file storage or one of the other cloud storage options that supports WebDAV: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/webdav_services

Do you foresee any issues with just switching my regular local directory listed under "Advanced > Files and Folders" with a Box Drive local folder?

I've done this and it seems to have worked ok. But I'm worried about the likelihood of corruption mentioned in the article you linked to. Would this setup be subject to that corruption?

I'm helping some faculty members find alternatives to the current webDAV-based Box sync setup. We get unlimited storage for free in Box, so it would be difficult for them to get funding for an alternative given their large storage requirements.

No, you absolutely shouldn't do that, as the page says. You will corrupt your database.

If you have several faculty (potentially with several students each) who need more storage, the cost of a Zotero Labs subscription (unlimited storage for everyone) is quite low: https://www.zotero.org/storage/institutions
