In-text Citation Author Limits
Hi all,
I've tried to find this in the forums, but I don't think I'm using the correct search terms. Anyways, I'm working on a paper that has a word limit and requires APA 6th edition. The requirements show in-text citations as only the first author's last name and year. e.g. (Jones, 2010). However, my in-text citations use all the authors names. e.g. (Schilero, Grimm, Bauman, Lenner, & Lesser, 2005). This has caused my paper to exceed the word count.
How can I get all my in-text to simply be 1 author and the year?
Thanks.

This is an old discussion that has not been active in a long time. Before commenting here, you should strongly consider starting a new discussion instead. If you think the content of this discussion is still relevant, you can link to it from your new discussion.
You'll also need to change the name of the file, ID and self link (lines 6-7) to something like apa-modified so it doesn't get overwritten with the next update.
