Two date fields for a Conference Paper?

It seems like a conference paper could use two date fields. One date field for day the conference started, and a second for when the proceedings were published.

Two dates would help sort out things the "The 20th annual Conference for blah blah."
  • Yes, that's planned. You can explicit code event-date: 2018-11-26 in the Extra field if you need to (the date in the regular field then refers to the publication field.
  • Yes, adding both fields is planned. The current date field should be understood as the publication date.

Currently, you can get separate dates by leaving the date field blank and entering them in the Extra field like this:
    Issued: 2018-10-31
    Event date: 2018-01-24

    (Issued is the publication date)

I don’t understand what you mean by the last comment. Zotero’s Citation processor doesn’t modify the contents of tittle fields other than to change capitalization. Having separate date behaviors won’t change that.
