Set the maximum size of

Hello,
I am working with the following Macro

text variable="title" text-case="capitalize-first" font-style="italic" suffix=",cit." form="short"

The problem is that I would like to set the maximum length of the text but I have not found any macro tag.
Any idea of any tag ?

    If you mean that you want to cut off the title after x characters or so, that's not possible.

    Would be possible to have only three words of the title?

    It is very particular Spanish style so many of my colleges and I need this function.

    May be possible to developed it?

    Not possible and the first time we've had this request, which would be very different from anything else CSL does. I'm honestly quite skeptical about adding it unless there's significantly wider demand (i.e. more different citation styles/situations that require this).

    Is there a role for the short title field here?

    best I can tell from their CSL snippet, they're already using the short title field, so apparently that doesn't do what they need.
